8ième Sommets de l'animation
8ième Sommets du cinéma d’animation à la Cinémathèque québécoise. Finalement, je me suis trouvé là tous les jours. Jeudi, ouverture des Sommets et vernissage de mon installation vidéo «Seule la main…» ; vendredi, mise en place de la soirée de performances et performances le soir ; samedi, lancement du coffret DVD de Jacques Drouin ; dimanche, projection de «11 in motion» et exposé de Claude Cloutier. De façon générale, il y avait une belle atmosphère de festival, agréablement survoltée, dont, j’imagine, on aura la nostalgie lorsque la manifestation aura grossie et, dans quelques années, sera devenue un «vrai festival». La programmation était vivante, très ouverte, imaginative, et pleine de surprise. Quant à moi, cela m’a un peu réconcilié avec le monde de l’animation. Il m’a semblé qu’il y a une nouvelle génération de créateur, une nouvelle abondance d’œuvre, une nouvelle liberté qui dépasse ce qui m’irritait depuis des années dans cet univers que je jugeais trop fermé sur lui-même et où je n’imaginais pas avoir ma place, …où également la vulgarité occupait trop de place. Mon diagnostique sévère m’apparaît aujourd’hui un peu hors contexte. À valider.
